I have commenced the Life Coaching part of my studies and thought l would share one aspect of how working with a Life Coach can aid your wellness journey. Comfort zones are a set of boundaries that we live and act within, in various areas of our lives such as work, our emotions, diet, relationships and exercise. We follow the path of least resistance for reasons such as having a fear of change, a lack of motivation, a desire for certainty in life or not wanting to have conflict with those around us who would not support the change. A Life Coach can help a person to step outside of their comfort zone so that they are able to reach new or desired goals. They will help the client to explore their self perceptions, so that they can gain an understanding of the underlying beliefs and attitudes they have which may be prohibiting them from achieving personal goals. A Life Coach can help a client to understand why it is a positive step to move outside of their comfort zone, help to build their motivation for purposeful change and nurture the clients confidence that they will be able to cope with change. The Life Coach can help to empower the client by exploring their options for change and by helping to develop their decision making skills. They will also help them to plan for changes in their life that will support personal growth and improved well being and help the client to identify any barriers which may need to be addressed to support this change.
When l complete my studies l look forward to helping people in this area as moving out of your comfort zone is an important part of the wellness journey, as it will enable you to achieve your small and long term life goals.
