Hi everyone, I have been busy setting up my coaching business lately and email Consultations are now available for anyone Worldwide excluding residents of the USA and Canada due to Insurance requirements. Please contact me if you are interested in a consultation or pass on my details to anyone you feel may be interested.

As followers of my blog you will be aware that I have had my own personal health challenges and have recovered from chronic illness, lost excess weight, reduced anxiety and now have the energy to achieve my own life goals, one of which has been to undertake studies in Nutrition in order to support and encourage others. I am also now studying Primal Nutrition through the Primal BluePrint in the USA which places approximately 80% of your wellbeing on good Nutrition with the remainder encompassing aspects such as quality sleep, reducing chronic exercise habits, promoting relaxation, stress management and life balance. I am learning so much about how we can influence gene expresssion through our diet and lifestyle choices and therefore we have a choice as to what our life will look like in the future.

My coaching strategy will centre around the Paleo diet and Primal lifestyle and I wholeheartedly believe that the Paleo diet is one of abundance, it can be healing if well managed and is the diet that supports our genetic makeup. Adapting to a cleaner and simpler eating pattern takes time and the adjustments need to be made slowly in order to encourage long term compliance and to reduce the symptoms that can be associated with changing your food intake. I can encourage and support you by drawing on my own personal experience and l offer a flexible, private and holistic service where each person is treated as an individual and your particular life circumstances are considered. There are many psychological aspects that influence our food choices and we will explore some of these habits such as emotional eating, eating when bored or when socializing as well as other life issues which are often barriers in our daily life that are roadblocks to achieving our desired life goals.

I was drawn to the Paleo diet following severe digestive complications following an emergency gallbladder removal.  I suffered from all aspects of GERD including bile and acid reflux, oesophageal spasms, nausea, digestive malabsorption and difficulty swallowing. I then went on a very low fat diet and upped my carbohydrate intake and developed a severe vitamin  B12 deficiency. I was on medicines to aid the reflux with Doctors telling me l would be on these the rest of my life. I started to have side effects from the drugs such as terrible leg cramps, was concerned about long term bone loss and lost a lot of weight in a very short time. The Doctors wanted to operate on my oesophagus and there were risks involved with doing this. All of the options presented to me addressed the symptoms and not the cause with my future looking quite bleak. My whole life turned around almost two years ago when l adopted the Paleo diet in addition to appropriate vitamin supplementation from a holistic General Practitioner and l now feel wonderful and understand what it feels like to be living in a well functioning body. Although l am not at this point eating red meat due to the gallbladder removal l hope to be able to one day but see my diet as one of abundance that has given me my health back and not one of deprivation as so many people believe it to be. I live with a family who are not completely Paleo orientated so understand the challenges of managing this but have a great motivation to be well which l want to share with you.

I also love to cook and have created many lovely recipes which are a wonderful resource. The dietary recommendations l will be making will incorporate your own personal desires and health situation but will have a focus on eliminating all refined foods from your diet, most grains and especially those that contain gluten and which are genetically modified, incorporating grass fed meats and butter, healthy fats such as coconut oil, extra virgin olive oil, macadamia nuts and avocados. There will be a focus on reducing sugar intake in all of its forms which will over time involve decreasing your carbohydrate intake and increasing the sources of good fats and protein. I will encourage you to incorporate lots of fresh vegetables into your diet and can recommend many wonderful juice and smoothie combinations.

I would initially like to start with the email consultations and then if it is required we could organise a skype or telephone consultation where l could support you further in addressing your dietary and lifestyle changes. I look forward to working with you, supporting, encouraging and motivating you on the changes you would like to make. Making life changes is extremely challenging and l am almost at the two year mark and am still working on it all as there are always new goals to achieve which is part of learning about and listening to your own body. The most important element is that you are self motivated to change and l hope that l can be an inspiration to you of how a persons life can completely turn around through self belief and by connecting with people and resources that support your wellness goals.

Before making any major dietary and lifestyle changes it is a good idea to check with your regular General Practitioner and it is very important that you let me know when completing the documents of any health conditions which may alter the recommendations l make and the goals you desire to achieve.

On return of the documents via email l will generate an extensive response which may include dietary changes based on a Paleo eating approach unless you specify otherwise. Additionally l may recommend lifestyle changes, resources such as books and websites and ask further questions. The consultation fee will include five further emails from you to me with responses over the next month in which time you can begin to make the recommended lifestyle changes and use the emails to seek support and clarification. I may email you after receiving the forms for clarification and this would be in addition to the 5 included emails.

Further consultation beyond this will require payment for a review consultation fee.
